Ways of the world



Ohh! My soul why are you so troubled?
Is it peace that you are looking for?
They ways of the world have had you boggled
The pressures of life have made you sore

For some it is money, for some it is success
For some it is relations and for some it is life
We always play the blame game when we fail to impress
The world can be painful, cuts hard like a knife

“I am only human”, “All I want is everything” they say
People will always use just like a scapegoat
Suddenly we become the hunted, we are the prey
They will make you “Walk the plank” without a lifeboat

Relations tend to abandon just like a fair-weather friend
Everything is going downhill, there seems to be no hope
“All seems lost” you say, “I must come to an end”
You wished there was someone with whom you could elope

No wonder you have no peace, you’ve got it all wrong
You put your trust in money, relations meant the world
You should have been in the Lord; he would have made you strong
Trust in the Lord and worship him, in him you will be furled

The Lord is always there for you like a loving father
Once in him you will see that the world is not your need
Let him rule your heart, he will be your provider
You will live in faith backed up with every good deed

Your life is precious gift from God, use it wisely
Live it to honour him and see the beauty it brings
You will be a new creation, his word in you densely
You will soar in the sky, like that on eagle’s wings

Sing unto the Lord you people, write to him a new psalm
Feast on his glorious word, eat till you soul is content
The ways of the world will not bother you, all will be calm
The peace of God will follow you; your place in Heaven you will cement

We have this one relation called brother It was always a mystery to me so I did not bother They say that brothers mean solidarity It’s an unbreakable bond even amidst adversity A silent guardian in the time of trouble When fear grips your heart and words begin to fumble He is always there to protect you, guide you Just give him a try, he will always be beside you It is a blood bond that cannot be broken You can rely on him when all seems to be forsaken You can confide in him; he will be you vault A vault is shut tight even when it is your fault My brother is my friend, he is my mentor I love him to bits, this I say with candour Thank you, my brother, for always being by my side I respect your presence, in your brotherhood I delight So, I say this as I close to all of you Respect your brother, coz he is always there for you Trust in his guidance, trust in his insight You will never go wrong even when all seems tight
